Everybody’s changing…
Wednesday, May 4th, 2005Let’s start this week’s festivities with a little bitching, ok? I mean, that’s what these blog things are for, right? See, the past couple of weeks have been spent exerting a great deal of effort trying my best to aid my boss with the loss of his Sp (segment producer for those who isn’t in the know) and make up for the void left by our esteemed colleague, and what do I get? Nothing. I’m unpaid, therefore…I’m undrunk. Curse the fate the gods has put this poor slacker through.
This is really fucked up. This is like the first summer I spent working. This time last year, I was killing a few hundred brain cells with my good friend Sofia, now well… let’s just say it’s a few levels below pathetic.
Speaking old good friends, my old goood friend resty, and my old good friend Mahilda are getting married, after four or five years (I stopped keeping track) of blissful premarital romance. Resty’s always been there with me and for me ever since we were junior high school. And now, he’s about to marry the love of his life. (And it’s nothing less than that, I assure you, I’ve seen it befoore my own two eyes. Theirs is a love most people can only hope to even recognizee, and that sorry group of people includes yours truly.) From such dubious beginnings, to their downright polar characteristics, this was one relationship most naysayers, shamefully including me, pegged as something doomed to fail. Yet, here we are now, a month away from the blessed union, and it’s still on. I happily put my foot in my mouth.
I guess we really are grown ups now. But then again, after seeing the two of them at their best and at their worst, (i. e. The “Jolibee walkout incident”) and surviving all the proverbial trials and tribulations, I guess it’s obvious that they’ve been grown ups for a long time now.
Congratulations. Youu two have been great friends, and I’m happy those crazy weekends wasn’t for nothing. And thank you for giving us non-believers some measure of hope.
We should all be that lucky.
